Day 27 Land Tour Day 3 Fly to Cairns Rainforest Sky Ride
Breakfast at 630, luggage out at 645, depart 730. Today we are flying to Cairns, and Misty is in labor. I wish I could be with her.
We have Wi-Fi so I can check on Misty again. No progress. There's a couple of big lizards called water dragons on the deck where we're having lunch.
There weren't any frogs here. Then we wandered and looked at some shops. We were going to go to the butterfly garden, but for $24 AU apiece, and in the rain they are not very active. So, we skipped it.
I found a possum on top of a tree. (Ed Note: the "possum"s here are not anything like the "opossum"s we have in North America!) Partly, we were in the mist. Lovely roaring huge waterfall. We saw some kangaroos beneath the car on the sky ride. One 'Roo was sleeping, curled up in the tall, wet grass.
When we left Sydney, she was dilated to 1-2 and just had pain meds. After our 3-hour flight I want to check back with her.
Once we get our bags, we go to a rainforest for a 5-mile canopy ride. Misty is still 1-2cm and at-2 station. It's raining in Cairns, but not cold. We drove to the top of the rainforest and had lunch at a place called Frogs.

We went to our hotel and the hallway had an awful smell like moldy mildew. Our room smells better. It has a lovely view! It is very humid here. Nothing is going to dry.
We headed out to a restaurant with a giant fish tank, Dundee's. It is pretty, but a bit pricy.
Then we wandered for gelato and snacks for when we go to Ayers Rock as things can be sparse there, we are told. We checked on Misty again and still no progress. It's 1:00am where she is and she's going to try to sleep.
