Day 8 Ride Day 4 Omarama to Kurow

Our host gave us a lovely cooked-to-order breakfast. They have a lovely brown dog, German Short-haired Pointer, that's very friendly. Apparently, the dog recently lost her best buddy, and is still heartbroken over it. We gave her some loving and she graciously returned our affections. The first 13 km was on mostly dirt with some gravel. A much nicer surface to ride on than we have had.

The second 16K we opted not to do. There were some sharp turns, sharp drop offs, very steep, and very rocky mountain biking, like yesterday. We're here for fun and we didn't have fun with that yesterday, so we skipped it. Lunch was very good with lots of veggies.

We picked it back up and had another 40K to do. It was sort of a long day, mostly on dirt with some gravel and some on paved roads. We were tired by the end. He didn't tell us there was a great big hill before we got into town. So glad we have an e-bike.

And then he didn't tell us what to do when we got in town, so of course, we didn't know. He found us and directed us to the b&b.

Then if course there's laundry.

Dinner will be at 7.  The chef didn't have any instructions as to dietary requirements so she's making lamb. I asked if I could have a smaller portion of lamb and more vegetables, and she accommodated me. The vegetables were very good. The meat was good, too.
