Day 12 Cruise Day 1 Embarkation

No real time agenda, so we went to breakfast at The Hilton. Check out at our hotel is 10am, but we were told we can stay until the cleaners come, if we want to. We are going to try to drop our bags at the cruise ship at 11, if possible.

Neither of us slept well. I guess we are excited. There is drama outside our room starting at about 6am when taxis, vans, and buses staged outside on the pier. Around 7, people started coming off the ship from the previous cruise.

We had a wonderful breakfast at a little restaurant with nice music playing. I had mushroom, kale, and feta. Paul had the Continental breakfast.

We stayed in our hotel room until the cleaners came. Then we got in a line to wait until we could board. We thought it would be 3 hours until they let us board at 2pm and we regretted booking a massage at 2:45. Thankfully, they let us board a bit after 12. Our room was not ready, so we wandered around, and had a bit of lunch from the International Cafe. Then we went to look for the gym and signed up for a few classes on our first sea day. Then we tried to find the spa. I got talked into an acupuncture treatment, then we had a couples massage. It was wonderful and we got talked into booking two more later in the cruise. And buying some oil and ointments.

Then we discovered we booked 4 specialty restaurants, so we had to figure out how to cancel a couple of them. The app didn't work, so we went to Sabatini's to fix our reservations. Then to dinner.  We dined with others from Australia. Then we went to go see what the specialty desserts were all about.

Tonight's show was an Elton John impersonator.

Paul wanted to watch the ship pull out.

  1. Hi, Looks like you're having fun and adventure! Safe travels for the rest of the trip.
Linda & I went horseback riding for her birthday. She rode "Silver" Not quite the Lone Ranger's horse - this one was old and slow. I rode rowdy, who lived up to his name - at least by my standards of barely being able to ride a horse. See you when you get home.
