Day 10 Transfer to Omaru to Christchurch, then fly to Auckland
We had breakfast at 8. Their little breakfast place was not well organized, and we hit the road at 9:15.
Paul, our ride leader, decided that we should get dropped off first and detach the trailer with the bikes so he could fit through the airport parking garage.
When we checked in, we asked if we could fly earlier than our tickets said, and they changed it to 4:00 instead of 6:00 p.m. That was really good for us. Now we can get there in the daylight. Unfortunately, due to the change, we aren't sitting together, but it's only an hour and a half flight.

We drove about 2 hours and then had a break in a little park. That was very nice. It was good to stretch and walk around. About an hour and a half later we stopped at a little cafe. I had this wonderful vegetarian croissant. Was so flaky and the sauce was really good. The drink I have been ordering is called a decaf flat white.
It's been nice to have a rest day. We got massages while we waited for our flight.
Our flight was uneventful other than I thought I had lost my earbuds and had a big search for them after the plane landed. But I found them in my stuff. Whew! We took an Uber to Princes Wharf and then began a treasure hunt to find our apartment. It was really complicated. We had to go into one building to get a key into another building to get in. Use a fob to open door, then go to an elevator and go up a floor, hunt for the room, and then use the key to open our room. I'm glad we had written directions cuz it was very difficult to find. From there we went meandering to find dinner, where we are meeting tomorrow's tour, and to try to figure out where our ship will be docking
